This: www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/miscellaneous/2012-11/se.../

is horrid. It hurt my eyes so I thought I would share it. Who is ordering these things? And paying eleven and a half grand for them....?!! At least they haven't put eyelashes on the headlamps.

The colour matches my daughter's nail varnish - I hope she doesn't see the picture or she'll want one.

Didn't Honda produce a few Jazz in a similar colour a few years back and I'm sure Fiat made some 500s in it in 2010.

I guess they're sold to people who are colour blind and don't realise they won't be able to sell them when they want rid.

You're kidding aren't you? The world is full of "wacky and mad" tarts who'd love to drive a pink car because, well, they're wacky and mad aren't they? That's why sites like this exist! www.darnallcars.co.uk/

"Come on Barbie let's go party".

I've seen a Beetle (2000-2010) this colour, which someone must have paid actual money for it to be resprayed!

A pink Jazz lives near us. The pink is fading and it now looks semi ok... like a dowager duchess

The Honda Jazz had a metallic pink, which was a lot more subdued.

The Fiat 500 is available in a solid pink (Idol Pink) that is almost as eye-offensive as this Seat.

Nissan also did the Micra CC in a pink - featured on Top Gear's test of the CC (think they used filters to enhance the pink colour on the film though).

I'd rather have that than this:

I know, I know, he's a footballer so its to be expected, etc., repeat to fade...

A certain UK non celiberty has a pink range rover there is no accounting for taste.

Eye hurtingly horrible - Steamdrivenandy

Is that a non-celibate or a non-celebrity, they're sort of totally different, or maybe not.......

Many years ago there was a Porsche 911 that I used to see in the Clapham area finished in a very similar colour.

That was a paint job rather than vinyl wrap too....:-O

Not a colour I would choose but at least it isn't a boring black, silver or grey, or even worse, white. Many manufacturers colours have become a bit limited these days.

Eye hurtingly horrible - Steamdrivenandy

I remember looking at a car paint chart a few years ago and virtually every colour was a variety of grey. From very pale silver through mid tones and on to dark grey with tints of gold added in along the way. I think there was one dark metallic blue on there to give a bit of relief.

At least a few years on we now have black (which fleet managers of the time wouldn't buy because it was rumoured to have a 'soft' finish) and white (which should be reserved for emergency vehicles only and banned from LCVs) and Toyota keep plugging away with their Chili Red. There's some good variations on burgundy/wine colours, but the violent eye shredders just ruin the landscape.

What did I hear on a reissue of Top Gear at the weekend on Dave? Oh yes that little boy with the ginger hair from Harry Potter proclaiming he'd got an orange Range Rover. Well I s'pose that's what a 12 year old might buy.

The colours have become dull on a lot of ranges. I saw a mid-blue Audi A4 Avant on the motorway and admired how non-silvery-grey it was.

Still I agree with the Barbie comment! There's a pink Micra near where I live - she lets the side down with the 'powered by fairydust' sticker....

Do any of you remember pink Renault 4s? It was really denture pink, and I recall they were virtually unsellable on the used market

The Renault 4s I remember were painted in rust with little bits of bodywork attached..

I have to own up here to owning a banana yellow Renault 6 for a few years back around '79/'80. Oh the shame.

A few years gone, while sitting in a pub in Colchester, a mate said; "Well, you know you're in Essex when you see that."

In a car park over the road was an MG ZR finished in YELLOW. A colour similar to yellow, only a lot louder.

Nothing's new is it.

In 1960, BMC produced a batch of 350 Lilac Morris Minors to celebrate the first British car with a million built - the special edition was slow to sell because of "conservative" colour choices from the public.

One would wait a long time to see anything much worse than this, in terms of wrecking a bit of fine engineering and style by throwing money and no taste at it!

I should add that the bimbo for whom it was a gift had her name emroidered in gold thread on the headrests First time out she did £5000 of damage to one of the alloys parking it and got a ticket because she was unable to get it into one parking bay, Nice one Chezza!

That is sacriledge. Living just south of Crewe we often see Bentleys out on the road, but I'm glad I haven't seen that one.

In fact I've asked for a factory tour as a present for my significant birthday in January. I even have a downloaded pic from Bentleys website as my screensaver. It's a front quarter view of a silver W12 GTC with magnolia leather on what looks like a sweeping south of France road. Gorgeous!

In fact if I had the brass I'd love a GTC V8, apart from the fact that they give them a black grille, the chrome grille on the W12 looks so much classier and more tasteful.

I can dream!

If you want to see some really tacky cars, look at barryboys.co.uk

The "shed of the week/year" is always good for a laugh. But some of the discussion would make the HJ swear filter have a fit.

In my opinion, even in garish pink, it still looks nicer than a Mini Paceman or Citroen DS3 or Fiat 500 !

Me too!

Well it was my mum's at the time, but I used to use it (until I got my own Austin 1100 in 1980.)

Could almost get the door handles to scrape the road if you cornered hard!

In the 70s orange and purple cars were the norm. These days the BMW colour brochure is just printed in black and white.

Eye hurtingly horrible - davecooper

Although pink is maybe a step too far, I do like bright colours. Had a green Mazda 2, now have a Teal Mazda, would have liked purple but not available. The colour range that MG had just prior to their demise was the best I have seen, plenty of flip paint options along with a good range of others. I was beginning to think that no prestige manufacturers offered anything away from the usual suspects. However, saw a lovely dark purple 3 Series yesterday so my faith has been partially restored.

Powered by fairydust- there is a joke in there but not before the watershed!

It gives new meaning to the phrase ' Pink is the new Black', there ought to be a law!!!!

Cheers Concrete.

Balowotsit at it again:

though, it has to be said, a little more conservatively this time!

PS. I really DON'T subscribe to the DM – it's just a constant source for 'tat' stories like this... ...but then you already knew that...

Eye hurtingly horrible - TeeCee

I have to say I actually quite like the Bentley in camouflage.

I wonder what one in plain olive drab would look like?
