Do your windows open when you 1. press and release the unlock button on your remote, and 2 press and hold the unlock button?

The windows should close by using the same ptocess with the lock button.

You may have an automatic function enabled ('windows auto down'), which I believe can be disabled via the centre console computer/radio settings menu.

Just talked to our local Volvo dealer to whom this problem was reported some time ago. Apparently, there is a function called "Global Opening" which may be disabled using the central settings menu. I cannot find this feature in the menu, nor is it mentioned in the (flipping) manual.

Apparently, global opening - presumably Swedish for the opening of ALL windows - occurs when the remote key button is held down for too long a period when the driver attempts to simply lock the car. In the Volvo dealer's experience, such global opening usually occurs as the motorist is walking away from the vehicle in happy ignorance that their car has just been rendered open to theft of the vehicle and its contents - and presumably uninsured since it could be argued that the car was not reasonably protected from theft by the owner.

Nice one, Volvo. I hope there is not a "Global Wheel Detachment" function hidden away somewhere.
