audi a4 tdi diesel year 02 - boot lid not opening - mickeybo

The boot lid on this car does not open at all either with key or remote control. Ithink i have two options here either cut small a square hole in panel behind rear seat hoping to get at lock mechanisem or drill out boot lid barrel. has any 1 come across across this problem before.or can offer any advice on this Regards Mickeybo

Spray inside the key hole with WD40.. several times and try again.
