Skoda Yeti 1,2 TSI DSG - Skoda Yeti "skittish" driving behaviour - lancastrian

I have a 2 year old Skoda Yeti 1.2TSI DSG with 10,500 miles on the clock - mainly on rural roads.

Recently the car has started to feel (what I can best describe as) "bouncy and twitchy/skittish" but with neither steering judder or other sensation nor straight line deviation even under braking - and less noticeable on motorways.

Tyres are original Continental contipremium2 215/16/HR16 maintained at the recommended 2.2 bar with no signs of uneven wear across a tyre. Treads are 7mm across each rear tyre and across each front tyre 4mm at the outer/inner edges and between 3 & 4mm across the centres. The car has not been "kerbed" but potholes and speed humps are not always avoidable.

Any suggestions as to the cause of the problem please?

If tyre wear is the cause (a) should the wheels be swopped crosswise front to rear and (b) when new tyres need to be fitted should they be put on the front or rear - I have read conflicting advice?

Also when tyres are changed does the steering angle sensor need to be reset (advice on an Audi in DT 29/9/2012)?
