my lexus 2007 is220d failed a few weeks ago and had 102,000 km on, lexus wont fix it and i was given 15,000 km warranty and i had done 21,000. Being quoted huge bills to fix it and really unhappy about the whole situation. Wouldnt recommend the is220d at all

It's a 5 year old car.........you either buy a mechanical warranty OR take the risk.

You took a risk ..............AND UNFORTUNATELY LOST...........even although it had only done 64,000 miles

A visit to the scrappy for a new engine.

The OP has not said what the problem actually is only he does not recommend Lexus and the car stopped.

i talked to the lexus mechanic he said its a flaw in the pistons, when it burns oil it pushes the carbon up putting pressure on the head gasket. Since this design fault was regonised they have redesigned the part.

A known fault and Toyota normally replace FOC if there is a FSH..

(Since OP is so short of information it suggests they have perhaps contibuted to the blow up? Serviced? Oil checked?)

I had a 2007 220d, it was recalled in May 2011 and the pistons and rings replaced FOC

Looks like this one has never been recalled, as madf says maybe some underlying reason for Lexus's inflexibly.

there was mileage of 101,000km on the lexus and lexus said they only covered it up to 100,000km. The second reason was they told me because I bought it off a non lexus dealer (volvo) and it was out of the lexus group.

i went to a solicitor and he said I need to go to the SIMI group over here and take a case. He said there is a high chance id win a case 75 percent he quoted as this was a known problem within mechanical circles and the dealer I bought off should have checked it before selling to me. I mentoined this to the dealer and now they are becoming very obliging in helping sort me out.

First post you say 102,000km, next to last post you say 101,000km. If it goes to court and you are inaccurate with your answers you will loose. Getting you facts accurate and consistent is essential.
