I was hoping someone could help me with a problem I've encountered...... with my 2002 Mk4

I have no warning lights or clock and mileage on the instrument panel when ignition is on apart from the seatbelt/airbag warning icon, and no movement on fuel needle but engine will start first time but cuts out almost immediately. have checked all fuses, any ideas?

I have sprayed everywhere with WD40 as we've had heavy rain, but nothing has been resolved.
