Hyundai i20 - Hyundai i20 door handles causing rusting doors - Dougie68

Hi,

Has anyone else with an i20 had problems with their door handles rubbing the paint off the doors so much that it's making them rust?

Hyundai dealer sending photos of problem to Hyundai to get the ok to start repairs. Said if this has happened before then it'll be easier to get them to ok repairs. If this is the first then might have some bother.

Thanks

Dougie

How can they say that. If there is a problem it needs fixing regardless of whether its the first or millionth time it has ocurred.

Suggest you forget that dealer and find one that inhabits Planet Earth and understands the word "warranty".

Just got car back from dealer after Hyundai authorised repair. They've resprayed doors but I went a bit mental when I saw what looked like plasters around door handles. Garage explained that Hyundai would only authorise repair if the fault could be guaranteed not to reoccur and only way to do that was to put protective film underneath handle. Seemingly was the only way to stop door handles rubbing against paintwork in future. Dealer who is also flogs Jags says Hyundai know about problem but only happens with some handles and they've been getting some Jags back with same problem.

Happy enough but now the dash dims when I switch the headlights on!! Getting a bit bored having dealer on speed dial.....

So it should, did you never spot it before.

Dealer said there's a small dial under steering that allows the dash to be brightened/dimmed and they had turned it down. Didn't think they would have needed to. I suppose I had better read my manual again!
