1995 mercedes w202 - electric windows not working - ib33

Hi, I have a problem with a 1995 Mercedes C class. All the electric windows don't work. Have checked the fuse and that is OK.

Any suggestions what to check next?

Cheers

Had a look at the window control module in the boot behind the battery. Each relay clicks in when the window switch is pressed. Managed to get the cover off the module and the relays all look OK and when tested with my voltmeter all showed 12v when each of the window switches were pressed. All the connections were fully clicked in place.

There is a microprocessor on the control module so just wonder is the electronics side has packed up.

Anyone had any experience of this module?

Hi,
Just changed the control unit (one behind the battery in the boot) made no difference, still all four windows not working, can hear each relay clicking in control unit but nothing.
Have not checked motors in doors yet, but cannot see all four motors being faulty.
What other common thing could cause this? Is there a connector that could be loose, or a bad earth?
Thanks to all replies,
Regards, Oldrover

If the relays are clicking ,then that suggests that the control circuits are ok.You need to check the main power and earth supply cables, usually thick red/black (power) and earth (brown). Can you check the switched outputs from the control relay?Unlikely that all 4 motors are faulty but not impossible.hth

I tested output from control relays and they showed 12V, thought it could be something to do with electronics so decided to change whole control unit to check, but nothing changed. Each relay will click in, but windows totally dead. Sunroof is controlled from same unit works fine.

Apparantly I have been told that there is another relay in the engine compartment, so am trying to find out where it is.

Thanks for your help,
