Toyota Avensis - Power loss - GBP1705

My 53 reg T2 seems to fire at randon on 3 cylinders and when this happens if i go over 3000 revs it loses power completely, I have to turn off ignition and restart, it goes fine after that for a while. When i go out in it 1st thing its fine but when i turn off engine and restart it only fires on 3 cylinders. It's been in 2 Toyota garages and numerous others but no fault can be found on the diagnostic machine. Any ideas anyone ?

Intermittent = problems to diagnose.

Try changing one coil pack at a time and running and see what happens. Will take a few days to test.

Almost certainly something breaking contact when warm ..

Losing power completely suggests MAF sensor ..

You don't tell us whether it's petrol/diesel or its mileage or whether it has been regularly serviced so we are guessing..

Tell us some details.

It is a petrol with 123000 on the clock, it has full service history and been serviced regularly.

I coil pack was renewed when i bought the car 18 months ago. The problem started about 6 months ago
