Be aware of the following:

On-site Inspection:

We appreciate that not all customers are experts in assessing the condition of their car therefore we always carry out an on-site inspection of a vehicle before we offer to buy it. If we consider that its value is affected by any aspect of its history or condition, including any unusual feature or customisation, which was not apparent to us when we gave the online valuation, the price that we offer for it will differ from the online valuation.

This means that the web valuation may be reduced.

Transaction Fees:

If the Price is between £155 and £4,999.99, there is a transaction fee of £49.99. Where the Price is £5,000 or more, the transaction fee is £74.99.(another reduction)

When will I receive the money?

We will pay you directly into your bank account which takes 4 working days after the day of sale. We also offer an optional next working day payment service which costs £24.75.

Do not part with the car until payment is cleared.

Reasonable valuation on line, then progressively reduced for one reason or another to a silly level, and then followed by 6 months of spam.

When people look to WBAC it's because they want to sell their car; ie they WANT SOMEONE TO BUY IT.

Now we have had endless comments on these pages about how daft individuals are in agreeing to buy a car without seeing , so why expect WBAC to do so?

I'm certainly no fan of their parent company but if the final offer they make is not to your liking, then simply say no.

you can use www.bravocardeals.com its a comparism site , you can compare quotes/offer from online cash for car buyers, franchised dealers and local dealers all making you offers to buy your car. An most of the dealers there offer free collection and you can also see if the buyers have any admin charges. Used it and found local dealer 3 miles down the road could offer me more than most of online buyers . as most of local dealers do not want people to occupy them , they use this sites so they can choose only the cars they are intrested in.

Bravo's site is pleasingly upfront in what it offers. It makes clear that any offers will come from 'dealers and other interested buyers'. Fine, but inevitably a dealer paying cash will offer less than you'd get in a PX deal or by selling privately.

I put my 2001 BMW Z3 on there yesterday to see what would happen. 6 offers so far, none above £2,500; selling privately I would get £3,500 to £4,000.

It's also worth mentioning that the stupid software wouldn't let me log in directly from the link in the E-mail: I had to go to Bravo's website.

The previous poster was selling a 2001 car and suresell told me they would not put a reserve on a car over 8 years old. Selling costs seemed quite high too but I am sure it is good for a younger car.

It is quite a problem selling older cars privately and at ten years old (my wife's BMW) one has to accept that it is probably worth more to keep as an extra car in the familty than sell for peanuts!

PS - saw the plate 1 HJ in Chesire a few weeks ago....!

Music to my ears, Meldrew! I don't really want to sell the Z3: it's still fun to drive as long as you accept that it's a grand tourer rather than a pure sports car - and it's a straight-six. I suppose I'd be tempted if I was offered £4,000+ for it.

I tried out Bravo just to be able to get some feedback for the forum.
