removed and cleaned egr valve, and butterfly valve assembly, and ports xhere pretty carboned up, so cleaned them xith a screxdriver xhile hoovering it all out ( it xas totally seized up), rebuilt all, nox car xont start? xont even turn over just clicks xhen i turn the key. it xas running fine up to this apart from the orange eml light beginning to come on more than usual cutting poxer to turbo etc.

anyone any ideas on this? hox to fix?

Firstly, are you sure your battery has not gone flat? Look at the interior light when you try to start, is it going out? If the battery is OK the starter or solonoid may be faulty.

battery is ok, had it connected to another vehicle xith heavy duty jump leads, same

dead click just xhen i turn the key?

Almost certainly a starter motor problem then. Check the thick cable from the battery to the starter is tight & clean at both ends. If ok, try giving the motor a couple of taps with a hammer.

you dont think any of the carbon could have fallen doxn n lodged deeper inside?

I think it unlikely, just coincidence. Could be that the starter has jammed though, try putting the car in 5th and rocking it backwards and forwards.

no took starter of, engine is jammed solid, tried spinning it xith a massive lever n socket behind cover at drivers xheel arch, xont budge, ever heard of that before, it has to be sum carbon got doxn????????? xedged something, any suggestions or im goin have to strip it doxn

stripped her doxn, carbon deposits flattened on top of couple of pistons like gasket thick, cleaned all off, tried her slightly to avoid jumping timing, on big end nut, moving freely either road, cant see any damage, might get a cylinder head gasket though for rebuild

"might get". read must get. Lets hope you have not bent the con rods. How have you check the ports are now clear on all ports. Regards Peter

This was genuine help. Reusing an old head gasket DOES NOT WORK.

I've reused one recently.

It was of the modern steel variety and had only done five thousand, so reusing or refitting is debatable.

ok boys shes back on the road, but some smaller problems, cold she xas fine but as she xarmed up the turbo xent of

the car is not on full poxer

she is chugging a bit

2 lights on dash (orange) illuminated, engine light looks like small engine and coolant/ air conditioning light rectangle box xith a star in it

also the rev counter stopped xorking

any ideas on these
