VW Passat Tdi 2006 - VW Passat heater - Chrisr

I have a 2006 Passat (current shape) and very little air gets through the heating/conditioning system. The inlet in the scuttle is clear. The divert fresh/re-circ operates correctly. I've taken out the fan and it's OK (even tried a new one with the same result). The divert control - feet, face/screen etc seems to work OK. I get warm air with the heater on and cold with the a/c on - just no flow. I cannot find any obvious blockage or leakage. Any ideas? Chris.

Does it have a pollen filter, if so it possibly needs renewing, is the airflow control stuck in the 'recirculate' mode?

Thanks, no pollen filter. The divert flap for re-circ works correctly, you can see it operate when the glove box has been removed. Chris

This car will definitely have a pollen filter as a factory fit.Located under plastic cover,next to battery.hth

Thanks for the message but the filter next to the battery is the engine intake - on my vehicle anyway. The heater inlet is in ther bulkhead on the passenger side, below the screen - it can be exposed by removing the push on clips for the plastic shield at the back of the engine bay. There is no filter for this fan inlet so could it be somehwere else? Chris

I think this is a later model Passat ,in which case the pollen filter is in the air ducting/housing in passenger footwell.There should be a slide out panel (downwards) that secures the filter.Similar to later Golf models.hth

You have 9 flap control motors but I would first check/change the pollen filters There are two, both fitted through the same removeable cover in the passenger foot well. Note the filters are marked for the direction of air flow. Regards Peter
