2000 plate galaxy ghia - Ford galaxy service schedule - stodd

Hi guys, great looking forum. I have found several useful answers here already, but i have what seems to be a silly question as nobody else has asked it yet...

The dashboard of my Galaxy has a service counter on it, which is handy because without it i would forget it needs doing. What i would like to know, if anyone can tell me, is what interval is this counter set to? Does it count down from 5,000 miles for example, 10,000 or 20,000? I have no idea.

What engine model is it I can check on autodata?

It has a vw 1.9 pd engine.

10000 miles.

ford recommend every 40000 miles timing belt should be changed along with tensioner.

To reset serviced indicator,

Switch ignition on, press and hold button A on the bottom left of the speedo for 2 seconds which will clear the service interval indicator.

Release button A switch ignition off.

Many thanks Matt, thats a great help.

I changed the cam belt, tensioner, water pump etc etc when i bought it, and i have serviced it again since. Im just useless at keeping track of what the odometer says, and i was wondering if i should be changing the belt again. Not just yet evidently.
