I ask the question because Suresell don't allow a reserve on a car over eight years old and their charges seem disproportionately high on a £2k car.

I've had wife's one owner car advertised at a very reasonable price for three weeks with no response. Naturally I assume that the price is too high but TBH I could not go out and get a similar 2/H vehicle for the money so we might as well keep it as a spare for me to use. Bicycles can get a little tricky in winter!

Anyone in a similar situation?

Suresell was suggested to me but I don't like the looks of their charges and I didn't find their information on them very clear. I am currently selling my sub-£2k Mazda 6 on eBay as a classified ad with offers. No bites yet but it's only been up a week. The ad was cheaper to place than any Autotrader ads and I won't pay eBay a percentage by doing it that way. I am determined not to go down the webuyanycar route as their offers are insultingly low - I could get more for the tyres on their own.

For older motors put a sign in the window and use local free ad papers, supermarket boards and websites.

My mum and sister both sold cars this way, my sister within an hour of it being parked with a sign in it.

Were those for little cars? They sell within days. Something like a Mazda6 will be a much harder sell
