Volkswagen Polo - satnav with free map updates? - maltrap

Can anyoe recommend a satnav that comes with free lifetime map updates. I'm fedup with my old Garmin Street Pilot getting confused with new road layouts.

Most SatNav's will require you to pay for map updates, either a one off of £40 to about £90 for life time upgrades.

If you have an Android or iOS smart phone, then I would recommend looking for some of the SatNav software, which often include lifetime updates with the cost of software. They seem to work out much more cost effective.

Garmin, and possibly others, do sat-navs with lifetime "free" map updates - example, the nuvi 2545LMT at £189.99- namely the cost of a lifetime map upgrade (which you can buy for any sat-nav) at £74.99 is built into the initial price. There are no free lunches

I've recently bought, from Amazon for £169.95, a Garmin 2595 LMT with lifetime maps and traffic and a 5" screen. It is now £154.90. Speed camera updates are £16 a year on top. Seems OK. Traffic broadcast works most of the time (depends on reception a bit). Camera warnings work OK. Tells you the speed limit and your own speed and warns if you go over. Easy to use. Has bluetooth which works fine with my very old Nokia. Plus there is a £30 cashback on it too. Worth looking at ?
