Ok, i am going crazy trying to find the solution to the problem ive been having with my car.

About 3 months ago, the car slowly started to decrease in power - i initally took it into my local indy garage and they couldn't diagnose it, so i took it to a VW specialst and they came up with the code:

16683/P0299/000665 - Boost Pressure Regulation: Control Range Not Reached

This wouldn't clear, i have trawled the internet for solutions and from the ROSS-TECH site, checked all that i could as it says but i am now left with the turbo! I've had the DV changed from stock to VW new revision then to a FORGE DV, made no difference, had the PCV changed twice from new, had emission test on the CAT came back really good, cleaned the MAF sensor, removed the front O2 sensor noticed a deposit of carbon but i believe this would have brought up a code.

I had the car re-mapped and was on 236bhp...now - 1.2l cars are speeding past me its that bad.

The engine light is not on and has not been on for a while now - it did come on around about 3 times but every time i took it to a guy who could read and clear the codes.

I've checked to the best of my ability for hose leaks, nothing.

Have you guys got any other ideas of what i can check before i actually accept i need another turbo? The only weird thing, if i slam my foot down, i have no power but if i gradually press it i seem to feel the turbo 'wanting' to kick in but does not and of that it feels like it gains a little more power at higher speeds and gear this in addition to when the engine is cold i have more power then when the engine wamrs up its completely gone.

If the turbo has packed in, wouldn't i hear a wirring sort of noise? last thing, the engine really stinks of petrol, now and again you can smell this in the cabin.

Any help would be much appreciated before i decide to buy a turbo......
