Citroen C4 Picasso - Windscreen reflection problem - brightoncolin
We have just bought an 08 Picasso. Our problem is that the rake of the windscreen means that the road markings are reflected on the top corners of the screen. As you drive the markings appear to spin around, creating a kind of strobing effect. It does not bother me much but the phenomenon triggers migrains and eye strain/pain for my wife. Using the sun visors only partly covers the effect. Strangley we do not have the other common problem of the dashboard being reflected. Advice please, are there any non reflective coatings for example, otherwise we might have to sell the car.

Many years ago accessory shops used to sell self adhesive sun strips for the tops of screens, designed to 'upgrade' a non top tint cheaply.

Don't know if these are still available, but might be worth a tenner or whatever one costs to try, with a bit of luck it will cut the problem down to an acceptable level.

Alternatively, and probably a better solution, i'm sure a window tinting outfit could do the same job leaving it looking like OE, maybe double thickness in the affected spots?.

Its incredible isn't it how really important things, like is and dash reflections on really expensive cars get overlooked whilst £millions is spent apparently perfecting frivolous electronic rubbish.

A number of cars still have the graduated heavy tint band built-in to the top 3-4 ins of the screen - despite the rest of the screen already being tinted to the maximum allowed.

GB's suggestion above looks fine.

Try wearing a pair of good quality polarised sunglasses. You can get these from Boots (or similar) for about £20. They work for me anyway.

Hi GB, the problem with the stick on tint strips is that I understand it is illegal to have the tinting within the area that the windcreen wipers cover. The reflection problem is well within this area. I was thinking a very light grey might be alright. But has anyone heard of any kind of treatment?

Extra tint at the top is permitted, but no deeper than 200mm / 8"

I expect the tint lads will know down to the nth degree what they can and can't get away with.

I think I have sussed where the problem is coming from, its the side/quarter lights, on the Picasso they are a lot bigger than on other cars. The reflection in the front winscreen is prestty much the same shape as the quarter lights only upside down. So i hope that if we put in a light tint/shade on the quearter lights this might do the trick. Fingers crossed. any thoughts at how dark the tint should be?
