48k on the clock and another issue!

When changing gear there is an audible squeak when changing to 5th or 6th gear, no noise when changing any other gear? Is not the clutch, just the gearbox that makes the noise.

Am pretty useless at mechanics but seems as if the gears are rubbing against something, is it possible?

Has just started happening, and as I said no noise from any other gear change.

Is it a must fix now issue?

Apologies for letting male species down being so useless at mechanics!

PS These niggly things have been there since day one of ownership and part of me says change car now! but with the torque filled engine the car is great to drive. Head says get rid, heart and probably bank account says no(major repairs avoidance hopefully)

Best ever Corsa IMO.

Try removing the gear lever gaiter and giving a squirt of something that will lubricate around the linkage route, follow the linkage through to the gearbox and lubricate the whole thing, at the very least this will eliminate the linkage and might even cure it..
