focus 2000 - Ford Focus W key programming - m+m
ive had a focus mk1 for 2 year now, came with red and blue keysI recently purchased an uncut rcl fob that i have managed to program into the central locking. But after having the key cut,it wont work. Fob still works with the c/l,it just wont start the car.
Now i have tried the handbook,it just wont have it.The led continues to flash no matter how many times i try it. Only other ionstructions i can find are the program the rcl fob,but i have done that and it works. Its the key that wont get coded.

I read somewhere that you need to see what code it is giving out to program it yourself after a minute of continous flashing.

Can anyone help me out?

Cheers

There are two seperate parts to your key fob. One is the battery powered fob that opens the car and the other is an immobiliser chip, if it has one. The chip is not re-codeable the car has to be programmed to the chip code. You may have to have the car connected to diagnostics to allow the car to lean the new code. Regards Peter

yeah i understand that, i bought a new rsl fob off ebay for 20. Ive tried programming it as the handbook says suing 2 keys within 5 secs but still having no luck.

it started once with the new key so after i turned if off, then left it 10 secs,i tried again and then the immboliser kicked in again :(

got an autolocksmith coming out to do it for £30 using some cables.
