hi nothing happens when i put car in gear and release the clutch pedal..it feels really light and i did notice some slippage 10mins prior to it not working at all but never before that...i have checked the reservoir and it is full please help!!!

hi .it sound like a clutch problem .has there been any problems changing gear or juddering when pulling away.gearbox problems have noises if it that. my mondeo had a dual mass flywheel ,and they can break up but you would be getting lots of noise from that .hope this helps .ray .

I doubt if a petrol that old has a DMF I had a 2004 1.8 and that didn't, the fault could be any thing from a failed gearbox to a linkage thats faulty only having a look is going to give you the answer.

If you mean that the car doesn't move at all with engine running and clutch pedal released, together with the clutch feeling really light and previously slipping I'd suggest the diaphragm spring (which provides pressure to the clutch plate) has broken in a major way.

If the car doesn't move when the clutch pedal is released with the engine running, the clutch slipped and now feels very light, it may be that the diaphragm spring (which provides pressure to the clutch plate) has broken in a major way.
