My experience was with a Golf 2 and it was 20 years ago but it could still be useful since the Scirocco was only a Golf in drag and it used the same engines. The Pierburg carb fitted by VW was not the most reliable piece of kit, there were quite a few failed at work and it was an expensive replacement. Weber did a kit to replace the Pierburg at about 50% of the cost including all the bits required. Any Weber delaer should be able to help.
