Click the door closed with your bum quite firmly. This may shut it 'properly' and allow you to open it. Regards Peter

Try repeatedly hitting the door under the handle with your fist while your assistant keeps pressing the remote unlock button.

Same problem with my Passat in the past, try the following link for a description and repair of what usually causes the problem

Took 3 days off and on trying to get the door to unlock on mine using the 'bang on door under lock' method. Needless to say, once it unlocked it was in bits pronto, before anybody got a chance to lock it again.
