Vauxhall Omega 2.2 2003 model - fault codes - gisajob1

warning symbol on dash cog wheel with exclamation sign in middle .fault codes read PO705 and P1700 what needs replacing and how do I do it, regards (gisajob1)

Fault codes starting 700 relate to autobox fault codes.

Auto switch is problomatic on an Omega but at its age it could be a box problem

yeah its the big black electronic switch on side of gearbox complete with thick harness.

make sure your cars not fitted with champion spark plugs as the high resistance copper core causes too much electical noise under the bonnet & plays havoc with the autobox.

Senator/carlton & Omega's were well renowned for spark plug issues causing nmo end of auto box issues so always worth a check.

THANKS FOR YOU REPLY INJECTION DOC , HAVE ONLY JUST GOT AROUND TO CHECKING ANSWERS, HAVE BEEN RUNNING MYSELF SILLY OVER THE LAST WEEK TRYING TO LOCATE A WORKSHOP MANUAL FOR MY OMEGA. HAYNES DIDNT DO ANY MANUALS FOR THIS MODEL AFTER 1999, ONCE AGAIN MANY THANKS (gisajob1)
