Haggling a new car: Honda Jazz - mmarsh

Need some Haggling help for a brand new Honda Jazz. This is my very first car

Honda is running a sale: 16500 for a Honda Jazz 1.4 Luxury CVT (as opposed to 18500). While supplies last...

Cost of car: 16500 EUROS

Options: 1400 EUROS for a GPS (from 1600)

Plates, Paperwork etc = 350 EUROS

TOTAL : 18250

I am sure the dealer has so more wiggle room, how much should I counter offer? 17500? High/Lower?

One othe thing. The Jazz is extremely well equipped except for one detail...the GPS. As you can see its quite expensive even though the dealer has already knocked 200 EUROS. I would really like it, but feel thats an outrageous price (10% of the car). Do you guys think its worth it? I do already have a tomtom but I like intregrated GPS better. If I remove it the price drops to 16800. EUROS

What I was thinking (getting) back the point 1 was going halfs, counteroffering 17500

What do you guys think?

Buy an accessory gps ,or an I pad with gps as an app ,dramatically cheaper about £200 for a standard gps ,or £600 for an I pad with multi functions .

With any sat nav, its not the initial cost that one needs to be aware of, it is also the cost of updating the mapping. For 1400 euros, you could replace your existing Tomtom with a new model, put some aside for map updates, and still save a considerable amount. Also on this class of car, a built-in sat nav adds zero value to the car come the time when you may wish to change.
