First post here, although I've visited the forum before and got some great information.

I've got a 307 2.0 HDi SW (136bhp model) with 60k on the clock.

It's recently started making a 'booming' noise when revving/accelerating which I first suspected as being exhaust related but closer inspection at a friend's garage, on ramp, has ruled that out. The noise is coming from the engine compartment area and sounds like the noise you get when the air filter housing is open on a diesel.

All pipes and hoses seem to be in good condition/no apparent leaks etc.

Any ideas?
