If you go onto the renault.co.uk website you should be able to download a pdf of the complete owners manual for the Clio, which should show you where to find the fusebox. This should help you if you don't have a manual for it - you will have to register first (I think).

Another good website is renaultforums,co.uk, plenty of info on all Renaults from owners.

It might be the inline fuse that has blown, not the one in the fusebox.

Hope that helps

Steve

quite often the fuse that feeds the car radio will feed other items eg, the interior lights, or heater etc....

when the radio went down, did anything else stop working.

as it might have just blown the (for example) the 5amp fuse mounted on the rear of most aftermarket radios.

Can you borrow a voltmeter and check the voltage to the radio,,,if you still have 12-14V then the radio fuse has blown. if nothing its the car fuse.

if you haven't got a voltmeter or can;t borrow one, a 12v car bulb with 2 wires connected will do the job, ie it'll light up when fed with 12-14v.

have fun

Paul.

Sorry to hijack the thread but does the cigar lighter have an 'inline fuse' as well?

The CD player and the cig lighter could be off the same (main) fuse, both could have a seperate inline fuse as well, if both are linked to the same (main) fuse and neither work thats the fuse to change first, I think the inline fuses are rated lower than the main fuses so that they blow first, if that's any help.

Have you found the fusebox ?, it usually has writing /symbols against each fuse to let you know which items its protecting, probably a yellow or blue fuse to look for. The red ones are the higher rated ones, and are not necessary for cd players/ cig lighters, so not worth looking at them.

Steve,

Many thanks. I have a non functioning cigar lighter-but the radio still works. This made me rule out the main fuse. I was unaware of the existence of the inline fuse.
