X type V6 petrol - Jaguar oil filter - atrier

I am about to fit a new, (genuine Jaguar), cannister oil filter to a 2003 X-type. Looking at the screw on end there is a line of glue between the metal "cup" that holds the sealing rubber and the metal top. The glue seems to join these two metal pieces and will be covered with hot oil while the engine is running. This is my first Jaguar and I have not noticed this feature on any other makes of filter for other cars. My concern is whether any of the glue will melt into the oil and block oilways or is this not possible. Advice from more experienced filter users would be much appreciated.

I would suggest that Jaguar and every other manufacturer would not supply parts that would create major problems fopr users. The glue will be up to the job, no need to panic.

Remember that Jaguar do not meke oil filters. The company that make them will use the same glue in filters they make for other manufacturers as well.
