NO! I wouldnt touch a mazda diesel (expecially a 2.0 in the mark 1 mazda 6) with a bargepole
Probably one of the most unreliable diesels made in the last 10 years
A petrol mazda 6 is good though - I currently drive one

There is lots of reports of problems with the Mazda 2.0 l diesel. If you search this site you can find lots of horror stories.
keep well away

That's over-priced, for a mileage that high, even if it is a diesel. I too have a petrol one of those, which is genuinely a cracking car, but I wouldn't have a diesel one.

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.Well,I have decided to imitate one of my favorite posters on this forum(Bobbin), and buy a Mazda 6. I`ve only had it a week, but have already done over 500mls.in it. It is indeed a superb car, well screwed together, with excellent handling(needed on Anglesey roads), and in TS2 form comes with a lot of toys. Petrol consumption is reasonable too considering it`s performance. My thanks go to Adam at RRG Mazda in Stockport for his extraordinarily high level of customer care, going much f***her than the extra mile in looking after his customers. If only all sales people had the same philosophy!

Cheers Piggy ;-)
I do between 200 and 600 miles a week in mine. Comfy aren't they? I've not tested it out in Wales but it's a lot of fun on the roads in the Lake District!

Mazda 6 petrol - fine, no problem.
Mazda 6 diesel - run away (unless someone else is paying the bills for it or you have some spare engines).
And £2500 is too much. I have an 05 Maz 6 petrol (2.0 TS) with 109k, FSH etc. I reckon it's current value around £1500 p/ex and £2k retail.
But it's your money, not mine at the end of the day....
|
I'd value it at 1.5 k and 1k p/ex
Firstly it's just TS trim, secondly it has 109k on the clock
Even on autotrader you can get a 2.0 TS with FSH with 66k for 2.3k
|
I echo that - I had mine valued a little while ago (1.8 TS, 101k) and the chap said he'd do £1600 p/x for me at best and I'd be able to sell it for £1995, but this was when it was lower mileage. It's hard to know whether I should keep it till it falls to bits or flog it now, as I'll be looking for a new car in August/September.

Bobbin - What year is year Mazda 6?
I have a 2003 Mazda 6 1.8TS 5 door with 63k and have been offered £1,000 as trade in.

I have a 2002 (one of the first ones) 2.0TS automatic with 102k and FSH (mostly mazda) and I was recently offered 1k trade in
Automatics do usually command a higher price but I'd imagine 1k is a tad on the low side for yours to be honest. I'm not in the trade though so could be totally wrong

2005, manual, almost 101k.
