Lea-Francis shot themselves in the foot with their Lynx model, that was announced in the early 1960's.

It was an attempt to build a sports car with striking up-to-the-minute styling but it was so ugly that when displayed at the Motor Show in London there were no orders. Only 3 Lynxes were built, and I believe all 3 survive.
I was once told that the styling for the Lynx was influenced by the fact that someone involved had obtained a brief glimpse of Jaguar's styling sketches for the forthcoming Mk10, which itself was no beauty!
