I'm not convinced. There is nothing particularly appealing about them in the face of the competition. The only way MG could have prospered would be if, like the Mini, they were a sub brand of a quality company like BMW.
Now if the Chinese could make me a nice new MGB, TR5 or 6, or even an Austin Healy 3000 at sensible prices they would have my immediate attention!
I believe a specialist company are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the MGB with a MGB 50LE. Only the shape and bodyshell are original, the rest being 21st century mechanicals. Alas, the price will NOT be competitive!
