Selling - The car - oldroverboy
This is awfully daft to admit, but here goes.......

Went to a local dealer who i know, and discussed cars with him, he said "lets have look at yours" on the valuation on his computer, everything came up rosy, except for the HPI check. Outstanding finance on the vehicle from 5 months before I bought it!
Boy, did my face go red!

Anyway a quick call to HPI and 5 minutes later they called me back to say sorted.

See.... even little old me got caught out! and i had bought from a large national dealer.
Ooops.

Hi,
It's a common misunderstanding that HPI ,is a panacea for all car problems.

The system depends on the correct information being supplied, and inputted.

I once complained that information they had listed was incorrect. Their response was the information available was for the benefit of the dvla and the finance companies.

The fee that I paid to access the information was a concession on their part to me .I didn't have a right to access the system or a guarantee that it would be accurate.

Arrogant ?
