Citroen Berlingo Multispace 1.9 DW8 - 400 miles to a tank - mss1tw

Hi all,

I'm getting pretty bad economy (Or so I've been told) from my 104,000 mile Berlingo.

It starts first time whatever the weather. It is quite slow but I have nothing to compare it against other than a mate's old 1.8 NA diesel Fiesta I drove for a while, which had a bit more poke.

It could be any one of a number of things, so I just wondered if anyone knew a really good Citroen diesel place (Near Surrey preferably but not essential)

Other than that it's a great little motor. Uses no oil and sounds as healthy as a diesel should.

Who thinks it's poor?

400/tank is pretty close to what I'm getting week to week. Might do a bit better on a run if driven carefully, OTOH got the orange light and 'bong' @ 390 in summer hols. Put that one down to hammering it, headwind down Rhone Valley and being heavily laden/roofbox on.

I've had a figure of 560 to a tank from someone on a Berlingo forum!

That's interesting, thanks Bromptonaut. Is yours the 1.9 DW8 non-turbo?

Same engine as yours and around same number on clock. We were a bit disapointed at first, the XUD BX returned well ovr 40mpg. Breeze block aerodynamics are a big factor.

The HDi could do 560 without too much trouble but was £1k more at time I bought mine.
