Mazda 6 - Anyone here that's driven a sport 2.3 and a 2.5?

Mazda 6 - Anyone here that's driven a sport 2.3 and a 2.5? - balleballe

After searching the net i've only found two people who have had a mazda 6 sport in both generations, and they differ on their opinions.

I'm wanting a car with more 'zoom zoom' and the prices on the 1st gen sport with the 2.3 engine seem pretty good to me, but I love the shape of the 2nd gen

The new engine is 9bhp 'superior' and benefits from direct injection so I'm assuming that fuel consumption would stay about the same as although the new engine is more powerful, direct injection is supposed to be more economical (as supported by Mazda's published 'figures').

Has anyone had or even just driven both? How do they differ? Which is more economical?
