Santa is on his way - Trilogy

OK so this is a bit like the lottery win question. If you could put in a last minute order to Santa what would it be for?

Mine would be a Porsche Boxster, a saviour with deep pockets for Saab and a winter free of roads with icy patches/snow/freezing fog. BTW, for my garden, I'd like a dry, frosty winter. :)

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone whether you've agreed, disagreed, wound me up or been wound up by me. :) This is a very useful and sometimes a highly entertaining/amusing forum.

a winter free of roads with icy patches/snow/freezing fog

No!!!

Mild winters are just damp and depressing. Last winter was wonderful. The picturesque snow, the crisp frosts, the added challenge of driving (esp. without ABS, ESP, Intelligent Automatic Nose Wiper etc.) Wondering how the car will cope with a proper cold start. Watching BMWs hopelessly slithering around like American police cars in a 1970's action film...

Nevertheless, I wish you the a very happy Christmas and all that jazz!

I'd settle for a set of alloys with good winter tyres on - and LOTS of snow !!

As there must be Celt blood somewhere in my family history, I'll wish you Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year but I'll share your toast to those who've "agreed, disagreed, wound me up or been wound up by me" - I enjoy the craic.

unthrottled, I agree, hence the garden frost comment. I prefer crisp, frosty dry winters. The comment was really just from a safety point of view.

It would be an Audi R8 Spider for me, but I'd keep the Octavia as well.

This seems a good opportunity for to wish everyone a very happy (and preferably MERRY, unless you're driving) Christmas. Let Santa also bring us lots more contributions, help and advice, humour, and reasoned debate without it ever becoming personal.

Reviving and updating a merry carol I wrote a few years ago for this forum:

Hark, the Herald (ancient) sings

(Mud and gunge beneath its wings),

Peace on earth and mercy mild,

Collos, Jamie reconciled.

Not so joyful Swedes will rise -

Saab joins Triumph in the skies.

Shunning automatic hell,

Jesus drives Emmanuel.

Hark, the Herald (ancient) sings -

Latter-day Triumphs have four rings.

Must have written it before you turned to the Dark Side and got a DSG then!

My Santa's wish?

A 1958 Peterbilt 351 tractor unit. Just for a challenge.

If anybody encourages snow anymore i will cut them.

Santa can do a double order and bring me an Audi R8 as well :-D

I've been a good girl I promise!

I hope that everyone has an enjoyable winter festival period ;-)

Does that mean that you're on holiday from HJ? [tosses electronic mistletoe into the bin]

Of course not! I don't celebrate religious festivals so it has to be some jolly Dawkins-esque message instead.

Steady on with the mistletoe. You'd have to take that cig out of your gob first....! :-D

Still waiting for you to 'break up'! Can't believe I didn't spot that.

A 530d in white with all the bells and whistles will do nicely

Alternatively - the jackpot in the lottery would be great, with that I can buy many cars and a few other things :D

When i was about 7 i worked out that each store has a Santa so they cant all be Santa and my mum told me they're Santa's helpers with special permission to dress as him while he sorts out presents at the North Pole.

I believed that for like a year!

"The physics is impossible."

Not if the sleigh is air-cooled. :)
