Hi Steve,
Strip out the interior trim and gently push it out from the centre of the largest part of the dent.

Don't use a hammer , you would cause more problems than you started with.

Unfortunately the metal will have stretched to the new shape ,so it's unlikely you will push it back to the original shape.

Hi Steve ,
Sorry if some of this is obvious but bare with me.

First push the rear seat out of the way as though you were trying to carry a large load.

Then check to see how the panel is held in place ,it will almost certainly be with large plastic screws ,some times they're not threaded, they just have ridges that fix them in place, they just pull out and then push back in.

It may be that the panel will be held in place at the top with a continuous grooved strip that will pull off.

In addition the panel itself may have fixing lugs that are part of the panel .they will fix into holes in the steel body.

You will need two or three screwdrivers of different lengths .

You need to ease away the panel a small part at a time using the screwdrivers .
But first remove as many of the screw fittings etc as you can.

One final tip ,use the cars heater to warm the interior before you start.

Plastics often become brittle when cold ,they're less likely to break if you warm the interior a little.

Good luck and take your time with it.

Please let the forum know the outcome.

Well done Steve,
Body work is one of the most difficult of the car repair skills to master.
From what you say the car looks more presentable now.

I found that applying heat from a heat gun helps to shrink the metal back to shape.
