Failed LGV test, advice needed - deefer
Hi,
I just failed my C test for clipping a kerb, gutted as I knew the turn and had been around it 4 times this week without clipping the kerb but let myself get intimidated by a bus on the test :-(

However, the examiner also gave me my one of three minor faults for not checking tail swing when turning right.
I know and understand tail swing, but what is the correct way to check for it when turning, and how should I complete a right turn correctly when traffic is passing in the near side lane?

Hello Deefer and bad luck old bean, chin up you'll be fine next go.

Theres a few of us here could give you old timers advice, however i for one am about 35 years out of date for test standards, so wouldn't dream of offering you conflicting advice.

Try trucknetuk.com , there you will find various truck forums and one in particular for new and potential drivers, proper DSA instructors lurk there so thats where i'd be headed.

When you've passed your test by all means pop back here and we'll tell you how to do it properly..:-)

Don't clear off completely though some good car stuff goes on here.
