Renault Scenic 1.9 diesel 2007 - catalatic converter - raywil

We have been told that we need to have our catalatic converter replaced on our scenic we have only done 90000 kms since we have had this card - is this necessary or can we just have an exhaust fitted.

I'd want to know more details first. Do they mean catalyst or particulate filter - did 2007 Scenics have DPFs?

If it is the catalyst it can be replaced with a piece of pipe or the internals removed and the car is still legal.
