£4680.00? or 1333.00? - Insurance for an 18 year old - dieseldogg
A tough call
UFU= £2369 for 6 months = 4680 for 12 months
Admiral = 1333.00 for 12 months,
This to include for class 1 business usuage, & multiple adresses, plus overnight on-street parking in Belfast.
I thought that was not unreasonable in the circumstances.

No, the thirteen hundred is not bad. Although it makes you wonder (again!) why there is such a difference between different insurance companies.

Admiral seem to be doing half decent deals for young drivers at the moment, most are finding Admiral are coming out cheapest with the Meerkat etc

Erm
The UFU discount had already been subject to a swinging reduction, it started about 6 or 7 thousand.
Gulp!
I did ask the girl how the young upcoming farmers, or farmers children, were meant to get insured?
I do also have considerable other insurance business placed with the UFU.
A fat lot o good that done me.

IN 1987......my step father worked for Sun Alliance (before they changed there name)

he had worked there since his school days....and retired whilst still working for the same company.....he got a 50% discount for family members....

I for a first car bought a mini-metro 998cc....valued at £900. it was 7 years old...(and rotten to the core...)

insurance with his 50% discount was £675....

in the end got insurance with Lion Insurance for £350....

this was of course 24 years ago!!!

some companies offer good deals for young drivers other don't......
