Plastic wheel trims that DONT try to look alloy!? - scz

Hi there

I have a 06 mitsubishi colt with plastic hubs..THe terrible type (IMHO) that make it look like you have alloys but clearly dont!

I am looking for something that is like a completely solid disc, or has simple round holes that correspond with the holes in the steel wheels below, or have slots or something around the edge...Something like an older VW trim, or even the original fiat panda plastic wheels..

I hate seeing the black wheel behind the obviously fake plastic 'alloy'.. I've been on ebay / google etc...and they all try and look like fake alloys, except for ''moon discs'' which only work on hot rods!

I leave mine off, that way they don't get damaged and look better when I come to sell.

well, the ones on it are a bit scuffed...but it's the overall 'fake alloy' look anyway that i dont like.

However, I dont think the black steel wheels below is a better option .... :)

I think id rather spray the steel wheels silver as a worst case scenario

not too bad !

I'm trying to cover the most part of the steel wheel behind and these look pretty ok..

WHy do the majority of designs need to look like fake alloys anyway? Id rather more manufacturers embraced the steel wheel like the original Scirocco and Smart car..

or just made cool plastic hubs...

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now this is what i'm talking about - future/retro/stylish/plastic design ...everything that most plastic caps dont look like!

These are amazing.. I wonder if they would fit a colt,??,,I need to get the size. I now remember that the ZX had cool plastic dish wheels.

Madf - You know the way everything plastic in the 70's /80's was cool becasue they used plastic as a material in its own right to embrace the fact that it LOOKS PLASTIC - well every company seems to have binned that idea (including Citroen i may add) in order to make fake plastic lookalike alloys....

More suggestion like this please anyone!?

Madf - You know the way everything plastic in the 70's /80's was cool becasue they used plastic as a material in its own right to embrace the fact that it LOOKS PLASTIC
