Speed camera error - filbert

I recently went through a camers on stretch of road I know well and where I know trhe limits. They go from 40 on the approach to a village, then 30, then 40 again.

I try hard to stick to limits and was doing so on the day in question.

I saw the camera, checked my speed and was happy that I was within a couple of mph of it. I can't remember whether the van was in the 30 or 40 stretch but I knew which when I went through.

I have now had a notice saying I was doing 40 in a 30 area but I'm convinced they're wrong.

I've been offered a speed awareneoss course and have no objections to taking it - I don't believe I have nothing to learn - but I resent being accused of somthing I don't think I did (and I don't want to waste the speed course offer in case I *do * need it later)

When I phoned, the only way of disputing it seems to be to go to court and I have no cnfidence that the system will allow me to win, even if I'm not guilty.

Any advice anyone?

Go onto the PePiPoo website - they'll advise how best to get a copy of the photograph so that you can establish exactly where you were in relationship to the speed limit boundaries - you have no right to demand the photo but the correctly worded request usually produces results.
