BMW - BMW 330d y reg - Harry Pearce
Hello,

I've seen a BMW 330d on a y reg estate 96000 full main dealer history and just had a full service and checked over by an independent BMW specialist. I've read the reviews by HJ which don't read well. Can anyone advise if I'm wasting my time buying it its up for £4000 grand but is in excellent condition. Any help please

Hope you have th odd £2k for possible repairs: suspension bushes, heater motor controls and ? has it engine swirl flaps...

£4000 grand is a lot of money - about a thousand times too much!

I ran one of these as a lease car a few years back. I needed to have a lot of suspension bushes replaced around 70,000 miles. The main dealer servicing didn't pick them up - and I had to insist on them being done. And the EGR valve coked up.

When the suspension was sorted it went back to being a great car. I loved it.

If it drives well and you have a good local specialist I'd say why not give it a go? But I'd get my own specialist to give it a good going over first!

I know someone with a 320D. He's had it from new. It's now done 170,000 miles. £150 for interim and £200 for main service at the supplying dealer. Engine shot by swirl flap failure at years old, but BMW stumped up the cost for a new engine.
