Does anyone out there have any experience of Auto Socks, a Norwegian product to slip over your tyres in slippery conditions?

a friend who works in a vauxhall parts department, told me there only for snow driving, i.e no black stuff showing or this will destroy them very quickly, from 40 quid upwards maybe try two space savers on the front or rear which ever suits. they will cut through the snow quite well and they will last the winter snow or not.

All you need is British resolution, determination, and go quite slowly.
