Mazda 2 - Door bolts get rusty - Bunny Rabbit

My Mazda 2 is only 3 years old, 58 Reg. The bolts of both driver and passenger doors get rusty. Is it normal for a 3 years' old Mazda? My door has been repaired over a year ago, so I am not whether the bolts get rusty is related to the repair or not. Expert advice will be appreciated.

Not an expert but have recently parted with a 58 plate Mazda 2 and there was not one speck of rust anywhere including the door bolts etc. If there had been, I would have thought twice about buying another. Had any appeared, I would probably have been taking a trip to the dealers to point this out.

I think Maxda have the thinnest known paint on any Japanese car. Many MX-5 owners have become friendly with their local classic car repairer due to premature rust (or at least premature in this day and age).

If they're not particuarly visible I'd give the bolts a squirt of ACF-50

Is it the new or old shape Mazda 2 ... SWMBO drives an old shape Mazda 2 and this was manufactured in Spain on the same production line as the Ford Fiesta, whereas the new shape cars are supposed to be built in Japan ...
