I followed an unmarked white transit today. Big sticker on the rear door (about two sq feet). Royal Mail - Internal Mail only.

So RM whats the matter with puttiing your own written communications in with the rest of the post?

Is this a tacit admission they really are a load of carp?

Is it cost effective for the Post Office to have it's own Post Office?

Are they worried that the Post Office will lose their stuff as well as our own?

Gee, I thought that said tyranny, but then the post office & BT were split a wheen o year ago & I was thinking of BT, not the post office.
If you see, what I think I thought I meant?
Anyway
I thought your observation & inescapable conclusion was quite funny.

Like most large public organisations it is cheaper to use their own internal system - civil service do the same. A single van full of internal post would cost thousands to send using a chargeable service.

How much would the Royal Mail pay er.... the Royal Mail (hint), to carry oh say 1kg from London to Liverpool.....in round numbers.

or

How about they buy a ink stamp and stamp an envelope 'Free internal mail'.

Would that be cheaper than employing a guy and buying and running a Frud Tranny?

Just a thought.

Anyway snail mails dying these days. Most business scan and send an email attachment. Or have a VPN. I can't remember the last time I used a fax machine or sent a telex. Must be years.

Anyway I thought the HMG just sent files like Mi5 and the NHS do. Save them to an unencrypted memory stick or Laptop then leave it in a pub or on a bus.......;)

Royal Mail dont pay themselves to send themselves mail obviously.

People think the postal service is a relic and on its way out but i dont agree. Its focus may have shifted from letters to parcels but its far from dead. With so much business happening online now if anything its made the postal service even more important. All that Amazoning, Ebaying, Play.coming etc we all do. People will always need hard copies of things for insurance reasons, people will always need parcels and packages etc

The postal system is the last bargain left in this country we should appreciate it. See how far you get on 46pence worth of petrol!
