Kia Proceed 3 1.6 cdri - Tempted by a Kia Proceed - fd1972uk

Hi All

New to the site and went to take a sneak peek at the new Rio at a local branch.

Looks very nice and obviously the 88mpg version is a great tempt especially as I travel daily from Glasgow to Livingston for work.

However whilst down I saw a 59 plate Pro'ceed 3 1.6 crdi in my favourite colour, White.

Think it's done around 14-15k and it's costs £9.5k.

Looked really really nice, sporty looking but having read up on it still get's around 63mpg combined, compared to my current car (Fiat Bravo 57) of 44mpg.

Just wondering if anyone thinks that is a decent deal, how much room have I got to haggle with and any real tips on the car.

Cheers in advance.

I like the Ce'ed and had one prior to the i30 I now own. The engines are superb and pull well but I did find it a really unforgiving ride.

The main issue I would recommend you look at is the steering. The Ce'ed I had, and if you Google 'Ce'ed Steering' or 'Ce'ed pulling to left' (look on Kia owners Forum) you'll see that a number of people have encountered this problem with quite a heavy steering pull to the left.

I had mine looked at loads of times and the best Kia could come up with was that the Ce'ed is 'camber sensitive'. I wasn't satisfied with that to be honest and it became such an issue I moved the car on.

I know other people who are perfectly happy with them and certainly wouldn't discourage you from buying one - just check this out first and make sure you are happy with it.

Look at broker deals on this site - Brand new @ £12.5K for a NEW (pre-reg)diesel sounds better than £9.5K for a 2 year old IMHO but it depends on your budget and how you pay for your car etc If it is beyond you print it out and use it as a haggle tool - only £3K more I can get a new motor - makes your 2nd hand look expensive............if should shut up after saying this he has to speak first

I guy I work with (not really a friend, he's Scottish), has just bought a new Pro'ceed 1.6 EcoDynamics (in White). Sounds like he got a good deal as they were running a promotion to pay the VAT.

Think it came in at about £12.5K on the road and he's averaging over 60mpg (but he does drive like a nun with piles, sometimes he looks like one too).

LOL, well I'm Scottish too. :p

Thanks all for the mega-quick responses.

Falkirk Bairn - What site are you referring to, I've done a few searches but can only see the cheapest Proceed 3 diesel version at just under £14k?
