Can anyone tell me what LSi means on a 96 Civic coupe?
|
LSi is just a model designation. A 96 could have a 1.5 or 1.6 litre engine, electric windows, central locking, an airbag and a stereo. Not loaded, not overly sporty and deisgned mainly for the American market, where they don't like hatchbacks and aren't bothered about 4 doors on small cars.
They're also surprisingly popular with some of the Max Power lot, who like the car's rev happy engine, decent looks, coupe tag and relatively low insurance premiums.

Insurance premiums are *not* relatively low for Civics for this very reason, check out their insurance groups compared to their competitors.

Yeah, a Civic is hugely expensive compared to a 306, which is what I see as its competitor. On the other hand, the Max Power boys see it as more of a Calibra rival, against which it compares pretty well. Point taken, I could have been clearer.
