Focus 2 1.8 TDCI - Slipping feeling - Ben 10

Recently noticed a slipping feeling as the accelerator pedal is depressed to increase speed/revs in a higher gear. A manual model, clutch is okay in engaging gear and pulling away. Just has this action when you want to put your foot down to increase speed or overtake. Any ideas whether it is mechanical or a diagnostic/sensor problem. Nothing lit on dash.

Do the revs increase without the speed increasing?

Yes they do. But eventually the car increases speed.

Clutch is slipping.

Get saving - clutch plus DMF = 700-1400 job i'm afraid. Depending on where you take it. I got the parts OEM from Eurocarparts and handed them to my local mechanic to fit. Still cost at the lower end of this range though. Ford quoted me 1400. Crooks.

Cheers guys. Thought it might be.

Just had a quote from an independant who is listed in the good garage section on here. £920 all inclusive. I'll ring Camberley Autos in the morning and get a quote for the parts and see if another independant I use can fit them and reduce the bill overall.

The more you let it slip the quicker it will wear. If you drive it gently so it doesn't slip it could last some time.
