I have a serious problem with my Ford Focus.

I've owned the car for just over twelve months and on a couple of occasions I've been acerbating and the power has dropped off, the revs drop until the engine stalls. It happened a few times and turning it off and on again sorted the problem.

However in the last month the problem has got far worse and you could not go over 2.5k revs in 2nd or 3rd gear without the engine cutting out, in the last week the problem now happens under hardly any load and it's become to unsafe to drive. My friend connected his computer and no faults were showing up.

Has anyone encountered this problem or would be able to suggest what the problem maybe?
