Which shall I buy? - Richie_green

Hi

After much deliberation, I have shortlisted an X5 and VW Touareg. Having test driven both and read numerous reviews, I am now undecided on which to choose as both were fantastic and have individual benefits/drawbacks.

Which would you choose?

If given the choice between them i'd probably veer off and buy a Volvo XC90.

Heres a couple of examples (note i dont know where you live so i always use Wimbledon as my starting point on AT)

Well priced, spacious, the D5 is a good model, lots of kit, probably the same pitfalls as a Toe-Rag or an X5 but the Volvo does at least sort of work off road which the X5 doesnt, at all.

It's down to your personal preference, but the X5, although a bit more expensive to buy, will hold its value better over the years.

Fair enough - Parkers ought to know: but I wonder where What Car gets its figures for residual value after 3 years from.
