Alfa Romeo Mito - Suits you sir! - unthrottled

Anyone else notice the '5 years complimentary servicing' offer on the Alfa Mito? I wonder how that works. Perhaps something like this:

Dealer: "Madam, may I point out how becoming you appear in that red dress?"

Customer: "Thank you! But what about my car?"

Dealer: "I'm afraid it needs a new engine which is not covered under warranty. Are those Jimmy Choo shoes?"

Complementary means free. But reading the Italians descriptions of things in service books and car manuals is always a laugh!

Complementary means free

No it doesn't.

Complimentary means something which goes well with something else

Complementary means something which is given without charge or cost

In fact looking at my previous message, I was talking rubbish, so ignore me

5 years servicing ais a great deal. I was happy to get 2 on my Note.

Well given that the cost to them of the servicing is very small (£50?), it's only a 50*5 = £250 discount off the price of a car. Which means nothing at all, really.

Plus of course they will take every chance they get to upsell you on non-service items, expensive valets, MOT's of course, and 'discovering' faults which need to be rectified immediately at great cost.

Standard operating procedure for dealers, I guess.

I've just read the small print of the offer. There are only TWO scheduled services of the Mito in that 5 yr/50,000 mile period! Trebles all round...

The service department tried to charge me £200 or so for the first service last year...until I showed them the invoice stating that the deal included two years free parts + labour servicing. I'm up for service two soon and I'll chop it in early just before April 12 to get a free third one. My wife told me to take the invoice along in case they 'forgot'.

Oh my goodness. You can't drive in Jimmy Choos, silly!

isn't one shoe pretty much the same as another Or are they ver high heels or something?

It was only meant to support a weak pun!

Hells bells unthrottled - you haven't done your research on this one! How uncharacteristic! ;-P

I did brieflly google them-just some pouting divas waving their legs around. The shoes looked like most women's shoes, uncomfortable, impractical, and probably hiideously expensive! I hope Mr Bobbin keepsa lid on the shoe buying...;-)

Ummm, no I think I could give Imelda Marcos a run for her money......

Really? What's so interesting about shoes? And stop being so benign-you were supposed to be outraged by the notion that Mr. Bobbin controls your shoe purchases!

Fine! <slaps unthrottled across the chops for his chauvinist-pig efforts>

New equation for you: shoes = awesome.

New equation for you: shoes = awesome.

I'll re-phrase that - Ladies shoes(every design you can think of) = awesome.

Mens shoes = brown or black and that's your lot. No one cares about men :(

Aww Corax! You poor thing. You have a point. Women can have any colour/pattern/style they like (says the girl with about 10 pairs of Converse)

I suppose it makes a refreshing change from the n years of grudgingly surly servicing that most manufacturers seem to give away these days....;-)

Shoes are your primary interface with the surface of the planet and are also the primary indicator of your taste.; Go figure...

Oh I agree. But you want a maximum of three good quality pairs: smart, casual and walking boots rather than a pile of unworn two tone loafers in the wardrobe!

Bobbin's shoe rack must have row upon row of pristine stilettos with an incongruous pair of blood stained rugby boots amongst them!

Hey, it ain't my blood.

Phew! That's all right then. Do you have a favourite 'driving' pair?

Alfa Romeo Mito - Suits you sir! - Bobbin Threadbare
To be honest, high heels are not bad to drive in except that you eventually make a hole in the mat by the accelerator pedal. They lift your foot up a bit so you don't have as far to reach; you just pivot on the heel. You can't beat a pair of trainers for actual 'feel' though; I always think you shouldn't drive in shoes that are too thick-soled as you can't feel the pedals properly.

Oh dear, he say's looking down at a pair of moth eaten trainers....

Trust the purveyor of good taste to pick up on a thread about shoes (with added drift).

Perhaps Alfa should do away with the flirty servicing and just dispense a free pair of shoes with every Mito?? In a matching colour scheme of course :-) I'd imagine anybody driving a Mito is likely to be deeply enticed by a pair of sexy shoes ;-)
